Elaine Burrows and Nick Swanson - Training

The EMBA team are pleased to announce that Revd Elaine Burrows and Revd Nick Swanson have offered to serve our churches as EMBA Associates in the area of training.

Both Elaine and Nick have already developed and delivered training courses in areas like pastoral care and leadership for the EMBA and we are grateful that they are both willing to use their experience, gifts and skills to further develop this aspect of association life amongst us. In this new role Elaine and Nick will work alongside the Regional Ministers in delivering training across the region.

From time to time they will offer courses to ministers and churches, but are also willing to be contacted regarding specific training needs you may have via email.

Elaine Burrows Elaine is an accredited Baptist Minister with over 24 years experience in Church Leadership and pastoral care. She has trained with ‘Bridge Builders Ministries’ completing courses in Transforming Church Conflict & Mediating Interpersonal Conflicts. Currently she works in training and mediation, serves in her own church and is a  moderator of another local church. She is also a Dementia Champion for the Alzheimer’s Society. She enjoys helping others connect with Jesus through creativity and wonder. Elaine lives in Huthwaite, Nottingham with her husband David, who is a hospital Chaplain.

Nick Swanson Nick has been a Baptist Minister for over 25 years and serves at Whetstone Baptist Church in Leicestershire, where his ministry focus is on discipleship and spiritual formation, pastoral care and training. He has worked as a tutor with Acorn Christian Listening and as a Bridge-Builders’ mediator, trains Spiritual Directors as part of the Launde Abbey team and teaches Pastoral Supervision at the Sherwood Institute in Nottingham. Before being called into ministry, Nick served for 10 years with the Royal Air Force, qualifying as an instructor. Nick is married to Sue, who is a clinical educator in the NHS. They have 2 grown up children and one granddaughter. Nick supports Nottingham Forest, loves walking and playing chess.
