What an amazing day we had as we gathered from churches all over the East Midlands to worship, pray and hear a great speaker. In fact word is getting out and we had a number of churches from other places. Women travelled for a couple of hours to get to us in Leicester from Skegness, Lincoln, Reading and Huntingdon. There were so many of us we had to close registrations a month before the event. We have a significant capacity problem to look at.
There was a great team of stewards and volunteers to make the day go well. What was almost overwhelming was the joy and the celebration in worship. We always start with a warm up song to relax everyone and so we had the women dancing and smiling from the beginning.
Anne Calver who heads up “Unleashed” was inspirational and challenging as she spoke on Deborah and Jael. She used personal stories to remind us that God is always wanting to use us and we need to wake up to the opportunities and possibilities around us.
Compassion Ministries were also with us and Bethan Stevens spoke about sponsoring a child. 16 children were sponsored that day which means 16 children are being loved and provided for in the name of Jesus.>
The verse that has inspired us all through is Ezra 10:4
"Rise up this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it."
