Dear Friends

We hope you have had a good summer and that you’re looking forward to starting up your Autumn church activities. We have a few opportunities over the next few months to get together for training, encouragement and blessing so check out the events below and get signed up.

We’re especially looking forward to welcoming Rev Lynn Green to the Association when she comes to speak at our Centenary Celebration of Women in Leadership on Sunday 11th October at 3pm, and then again joining our Ministers for a Rooted Day on Monday 12th October.

Research Request

Will you help with research being conducted within Baptists Together? As Baptists, we’re discipleship people, raising up everyone to participate in God’s kingdom. We’re also membership people, covenanting in local churches to watch over one another and engage in mission together. But how do the two connect? Dave Criddle, a Baptist Minister, is conducting research into that question. He aims to discover how membership structures are—or could be—developed and used in ways that grow healthy disciples. All leaders of Baptist churches are invited to complete a simple online survey (20–30 minutes) to help his research. It will be open until the end of September.

Spurgeons Thanksgiving

Many of our ministers trained at Spurgeons College, (including our Team Leader Mark Clay!) so we were saddened to hear the news last Summer that the college was closing.

There will be a Thanksgiving Day for anyone who wishes to attend on Thursday 17th September at Trinity Baptist Church in Croydon.

Kenny Henry (EMBA Safeguarding Lead) is now the primary contact for all EMBA safeguarding concerns and training enquiries. 

 

New Safeguarding training dates are now available to book.

Kenny holds a drop-in "Zoom Surgery" when you can chat with him about safeguarding matters.  It's 6-7pm on the last Thursday of the month online.  Contact Kenny for details and the link.
